In the second transaction in as many weeks, Coast2Coast’s consumer goods platform Bounty Brands has acquired Annique Health and Beauty in an all-cash deal last week. Targeting higher-end consumers, the deal further strengthens Bounty Brand’s position in the direct selling distribution channel, offering the potential for significant revenue growth for the company by delivering sales and marketing synergies with Table Charm, an existing direct selling company in Bounty Brand’s stable.
Founded in 1971, Annique Health and Beauty sells a range of Rooibos-based skincare, body care and healthcare products directly to customers through a well-established network of approximately 11,000 independent sales consultants. Annique, which is based in Pretoria has developed a comprehensive range of products mostly containing the company’s trademark ingredient, the well-known Rooibos extract. The company and its products enjoy significant brand recognition in South Africa, a factor critical in Bounty Brands’ strategy of investing in market-leading, defensible consumer products.
The terms and valuation of the deal were not disclosed. As with the deal for Musgrave Agencies the week before, the transaction was sourced, evaluated and executed by Coast2Coast’s deal team.
