EBS Advisory, an environmental and sustainability consultancy, has appointed Paul Ben-Israel as a Managing Director to head up the company’s operations in the SADC region. He started his career in the pensions actuarial department at Alexander Forbes, before transitioning to a career in management consulting, where he has spent the better part of the last 20 years. Ring this period he spent 7 years at Deloitte where he moved from a focus on energy to become a consulting leader in sustainability.
He brings an in-depth understanding of the environmental and social aspects of business, specifically with regard to sustainability, in a number of roles. He has led a number of engagements for South Africa’s Renewable Energy bid program, opened an office in South Africa for a global carbon trading company, and headed up Eskom’s Energy Deficiency Demand Side Management intervention during South Africa’s 2008 power crisis.
He will be based in the firm’s head office in Johannesburg, South Africa.
