Texas-based Endeavor Energy has entered into a joint Development Agreement with Ivorian independent power producer Starenergie2073 to develop the Songon Gas-to-power project near Abidjan. Denham Capital-backed Endeavor will own a majority of the project equity, but specific terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Songon is a greenfield power project which is planned to deliver 375MW of combined cycle power generation. According to the press release on Denham Capital’s website, the project consists of constructing a purpose-built liquefied natural gas import infrastructure and constructing a floating storage and regasification unit. Endeavor will provide construction management, fuel management and commercial management services.
The Songon project is Endeavor’s second African gas-to-power project featuring a LNG import infrastructure and FSRU. Headquartered in Houston, the Independent Power Producer is focused on developing power generation facilities in Africa, and looks to participate in multiple power development opportunities on the continent.
