European Investment Bank sets up shop in Addis

The European Investment Bank opened an office in Ethiopia, one of sub-Saharan Africa’s fastest growing economies last week. The Addis Ababa office becomes the latest location for the multilateral lender, which already has a presence in South Africa, Egypt, Kenya, Morocco, Tunisia and Senegal. A further four additional new offices are planned to open over the next 18 months in Cameroon, Cote d’Ivoire, Mozambique and Zambia to help the EIB support the financing requirements of the vast infrastructure investment opportunities the continent will offer.
