Investec has hired four new executives to its global fund finance team. Nick Rusling, Alan MacDonald, Ian Wiese and Oliver Bartholomew will be based in the firm’s London office.
Nick Rusling joins from Barclays where he was previously a Director with the bank’s Debt Finance team, specializing in the development of innovative, purpose-driven financing structures. It’s expected that this experience will help Investec’s Fund Finance team provide new solutions to its client base.
Alan MacDonald, who worked with Debevoise & Plimpton’s corporate finance practice, joins the Fund Finance Group’s legal risk team. He brings with him over seven year’s post-qualification experience in financial law with a particular expertise in leveraged and investment grade financing.
The remaining pair of hires have been made from within Investec. Ian Wiese worked with Investec’s specialized finance team in Johannesburg for the last four years. A lawyer by training, he worked for ENS and KFML Holdings before joining Investec in early 2011. Oliver Bartholomew joins from Investec’s Security & Covenant Management Team in London, which he joined in 2014 as a Financial Covenant Analyst.
“The industry has grown exponentially and it is incumbent on us to find ways to deliver new, innovative and purpose-driven financing products to our clients…” said Simon Hamilton, Global Head of Investec’s Fund Finance business in welcoming the new hires “…It is becoming clearer that the type of financing that the Fund Finance team provides is becoming a necessity to private equity firms around the world.
