Kuramo Capital Management, an Africa-focused alternative investment management firm has teamed up with Nile Capital Management to launch a new investment platform focused on Africa’s public market opportunities. Kuramo Nile Capital, as the new partnership will be called, hopes to leverage the combined market expertise and presence of both entities to deliver good returns to a client base of retail and institutional investors.
Larry Seruma, who founded Nile Capital in 2004, will act as the new entity’s Chief Investment Officer. Using proprietary macro-economic research plus bottom-up fundamental analysis, Kuramo Nile will build and manage a portfolio of stocks of companies in the most attractive markets on the continent.
“I have known Kuramo Capital and its leadership team for a long time and we both share common values about investing and a strong commitment to investing in Africa,” he said in the statement announcing the partnership. “The new firm presents a comprehensive investment platform for investors seeking to capitalize on Africa’s growth potential and investment opportunities.”
It’s hoped that Kuramo’s institutional offerings, global footprint, and infrastructure in addition to Nile Capital’s track record will prove a winning combination for investors .
