ODI finds international private equity SSA investments top $12bln

Investment by international private equity managers in sub-Saharan Africa has increased five-fold since 2008, and now accounts for $12 billion or 20% annually of cross-border investments, according to a working paper released by Britain’s Overseas Development Institute. One result is that the region is suffering from a capital overhang due to the difficulty of finding suitable investments.
