Uganda’s NSSF to set up an SME private equity fund

Uganda’s National Social Security Fund is looking to broaden its asset allocation away from fixed income products to include more direct infrastructure and private equity investments as part of its mix. Managing Director Richard Byarugaba told the members at the pension fund’s annual meeting that the fund would like to set up a private equity fund to invest in the country’s SMEs.
