One Thousand and One Voices, the private family capital investor announced its intention to make its second agribusiness investment last week by taking a minority stake in Beefmaster Holdings, the privately-owned South African beef producer and distributor. Terms of the planned deal were not disclosed.
The capital will be used by Beefmaster to expand its production capacity to meet the growing market demand for meat protein. The company is based in the North West Province of South Africa and sells its products to clients around the world. A vertically integrated operation, it runs a leading abattoir, feed lots, logistics operations and multiple Beefmaster-branded retail outlets.
Beefmaster’s CEO, Louw van Reenen, stated that “An investment from one Thousand and one Voices would provide an exceptional opportunity for us to leverage not only 1K1V’s financial support but also the unique expertise and relationships of industry-leading family offices from around the globe to accelerate our success and service our customers, supplier and partners even better.”
