The African Development Bank is a multi-lateral development finance institution and the premier pan-African organization fostering economic growth and social progress in Africa. To focus and ensure greater developmental impacts for the Bank’s work, five major areas, all of which will accelerate its delivery for Africa, have been identified: Light up and power Africa; Feed Africa; Industrialize Africa; Integrate Africa; and Improve the quality of life for the people of Africa.

The Division Manager, Corporate & Strategic Portfolio Management (PINS2) ensures effective portfolio management, corporate-wide and across all asset classes. S/he provides Middle and Back Office services and strives to improve overall portfolio quality by developing and delivering best in class portfolio management frameworks, policies, guidelines and procedures. S/he conducts in-depth portfolio analysis and advises the Board, Senior Management and other senior stakeholders on portfolio performance and sustainability.

The Division Manager reports directly to the Director of Private Sector Operations within the Vice-Presidency for Private Sector, Infrastructure and Industrialization. S/he leads several small teams that form the Division, including Shared Service & Reporting; Middle & Back Office; and Equity Portfolio & Asset Management. Under the leadership of the Division Manager, the teams promote private sector development by delivering active portfolio management; portfolio advisory support; oversight and reporting (portfolio review); standards and frameworks for project monitoring; and Back & Middle Office support to sector departments.

The successful candidate will bring substantial experience in Middle & Back Office leadership and risk management. S/he will be highly analytical, strategic and delivery-oriented, with the ability to serve as an effective interlocutor with internal clients that include regional and sector departments, Legal, Audit and Risk, among others. S/he will bring seniority, energy, and vision.
