Pegasus Capital explores sustainable off-grid opportunities in Tanzania

Pegasus Capital is looking for opportunities to create and implement sustainable, systemic solutions in the water, power, waste and agricultural sectors in East Africa, with a particular focus on those that are off-grid  The US-based private equity fund manager’s founder and CEO, Craig Cogut, and a small team of senior managers from a select group of the firm’s portfolio companies visited Tanzania in February as guests of East Africa Wellbeing International Company, (EAWBIC), a business developer in East Africa.

The firm had meetings with several government departments including the Tanzanian Investment Centre, a government agency which looks to facilitate private sector investments in the country.   The agency welcomed the interest, stating that the country was keen to attract investments from individuals and institutions like Pegasus, whose brand power in the USA would help “…place Tanzania on credible radar screens for additional investment…” and help create jobs and a range of specific artisanal skills in the country.

As Pegasus and its portfolio companies seek to enter the market they will partner with EAWBIC.
