At SAVCA’s annual general meeting in Johannesburg last week, the industry association announced the appointment of three new board members—Paul Boynton, the CEO of Old Mutual Alternative Investments, Cathy Goddard, the Chief Investment Officer at Vuwa and Yvonne Maitin, a Partner at Bopa Moruo.

Welcoming the announcement, Dave Stadler, the current Chair of SAVCA’s board and CEO of Paean Private Equity said “It is gratifying to have new directors joining the SAVCA board who bring a diverse range of industry experience, many years of private equity and venture capital service, and strategic insight, all of which will be harnessed to make a positive contribution to the private equity and venture capital industry in Southern Africa.”

The new directors join the thirteen-member board whose mandate is to promote Southern Africa’s private equity and venture capital industry both domestically and internationally. According the Erika van der Merwe, the industry association’s CEO, Boynton, Goddard and Maitin have long been active participants in SAVCA’s activities, from fostering relationships with the Limited Partner community, supporting the body’s training programs and acting as advocates and promoters of the region’s industry.
